What quality do you think is most important for success in the role of Data Management Consultant?
I believe that attention to detail is the most important quality for a Data
Management Consultant. It involves taking responsibility for data quality and
ensuring that everything is accurate. Then there are qualities that are generally important
regardless of the role you’re in, such as diligence and the ability to communicate effectively
.
Tell us a little about yourself, what kind of person are you and how do others perceive you?
I’m a very energetic person, and I enjoy sharing that energy with others.
Talking to people, understanding different perspectives, and building new relationships is
something I really enjoy. I believe I’m seen as dedicated and
reliable—someone who contributes to a positive atmosphere in the group. For me, it’s important to
be both helpful and friendly, and I also try to bring a sense of humor when
appropriate—it often creates a more relaxed and positive work environment.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I’ve always been more of a night owl, but over time I’ve learned to
appreciate mornings and the benefits of starting the day early. These days, I enjoy getting up early and feeling like I have the whole day ahead of me. I like to stay busy and be active for most of the day; otherwise, I easily get restless. What’s important to me is feeling like I have energy throughout my day, regardless of when I start or finish.
Where do you like to travel?
I prefer to travel to warmer climates where I can combine my trip with my
favorite hobby—surfskiing. I enjoy discovering new places, but
my favorite so far is Madeira, with its beautiful nature, crystal-clear waters, and perfect
conditions for paddling almost every day.
Do you have a bucket list? If so, what are the top three things on it?
I don't have a written bucket list, but I have plenty of ideas for experiences I want to have. At the top of the list right now is traveling to South Africa to paddle in the World Championships (which is actually happening this fall!). Both my partner and I are eager to take a campervan vacation in Europe, probably mostly in Spain and Portugal—but the exciting part is that you can change your plans along the way! Finally, there’s of course another paddling-related dream: to compete in the classic surfski race between Oahu and Molokai in Hawaii—50 kilometers in the open ocean, a whole adventure in a single race.
What do you prefer to do on a Saturday night?
As a morning person, I tend to take it easy on Saturday evenings. I like to relax and listen to vinyl records—it's a time for me to unwind and reflect on the week that has passed. I often choose records that suit my mood for the day and make sure it's a time for myself without any major demands for activity.
If you could switch lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why?
Perhaps the most reasonable answer would be to switch places with a world leader to try to stop war and suffering—but that also feels like a pretty predictable answer. So instead, it would be awesome to be a musician for a day, someone like Håkan Hellström when he’s performing at Ullevi. To stand there in front of a sea of people and feel that energy—that’s probably a feeling you’d never get to experience otherwise.
Who is your favorite superhero, and why?
Spider-Man, mostly because it looks like so much fun to swing between the skyscrapers in New York. Plus, Spider-Man is a very classic superhero—not just someone with cool gadgets like Iron Man or Batman. I also like that he’s a bit more relatable and doesn’t take himself too seriously
If you had to have a song play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what song would it be and why that one in particular?
That’s a really tricky question, because you don’t want to risk ruining a favorite song by listening to it all the time, but you also don’t want something boring. The song has to be timeless, have good energy, and not get old over time. I’d probably choose “The Less I Know the Better” by Tame Impala. It has a nice groove, fits in most situations, and stays just on the right side of both chill and catchy.
What's the strangest thing you've ever eaten?
Once, at a tapas restaurant in Spain, I happened to order a dish that could best be described as Edward Blom’s hangover cheese. It looked a bit iffy, but it was actually pretty good.
If a movie were made about your life, what genre would it be, and who would play you?
It would probably be a comedy with lots of elements from different competitions—a bit like *Eddie the Eagle*, ideally with both heartwarming and zany moments. Chris Pratt seems like a good choice to play me: a great mix of action and comedy. I imagine the movie starting in the middle of the action, out at sea during a race. Everything seems to be going well, then something unexpected happens, and then comes the classic line: “How did I end up here? Let’s rewind…”—and then it’s off to the races!
What career would have been a complete mismatch for you?
Being a heart surgeon would probably have been the worst possible career choice for me. I find being in a hospital uncomfortable, I wouldn’t want to be responsible for someone’s life, and just the thought of standing there with a scalpel in my hand gives me the creeps.
What is the best thing about SQL Systems?
