Meet Axel, SQL Systems' calm logistics guru with green fingers

“'I feel like my old self again. Totally inadequate, completely insecure, paranoid, neurotic. It's a pleasure.'”

George Costanza

Tell us a little about yourself, what kind of person are you and how do others perceive you?

I grew up close to nature on a farm outside Halmstad. I studied logistics, and after that I worked with logistics flows and volume forecasts. People probably see me as humorous, calm, organized, and easy to work with. I enjoy spending time in the garden and growing all kinds of vegetables, which I harvest and use to treat friends and family to delicious dinners. I also love being out in nature and near the sea, preferably with my family. I’m happy to bring my fishing rod or just a simple picnic basket.

What motivates you?

I’m driven by finding new creative solutions, learning new things, and improving myself. I want to grow both personally and professionally, ideally alongside my colleagues. I’ve worked extensively on process implementation. In that context, it’s important to get your colleagues on board and ensure everyone recognizes the value of the upcoming change. Being part of that journey and working across different functions within an organization is very rewarding.

What do you prefer to do on a Saturday night?

Ideally with family, friends, or neighbors. Then we’ll enjoy good food and drinks, play games—maybe Hitster, card games, or Nintendo Switch.

Where do you like to travel?

To my family’s summer cottage in Ängelholm. There, you can relax, swim, sunbathe, or just listen to the sound of the sea. Other destinations might include various historical sites around Sweden or elsewhere in Europe. Gotland is also a destination we’ve come to appreciate. There, we can enjoy nature on the sandy island of Gotland or explore the many historical sites in Visby.

What characteristic do you consider most important for success in the role of (your role)?

Patience. In my role, it’s common to encounter many different challenges and strong-willed people. The path to a successful outcome is rarely straightforward. What I believe is important is to listen, discuss, and test different ideas. Sometimes you may need to rethink or redo things one, two, or even three times. That’s why I believe patience is an advantage.

In what situations do you find your job most enjoyable?

Achieving our goals together with my colleagues and having fun!
